Wan Yan, A Millionaire Who Goes Bankrupt After Rescuing Thousands Of Dogs
Any animal lover would love for stray dogs to cease to exist, for everyone to have a warm, welcoming and loving home that will fill them with happiness. But of course, for that, as for everything in life unfortunately, it would take a lot, a lot of money. Besides money, good hearts that love little things more than material things.
This kind of caring attitude is conspicuous by its absence, but there are still many animal lovers who would be willing to do anything for them. The proof is in our blog, which exists thanks to all of you, who love, care for and respect animals.
Another sample is the story that we are going to tell you in this article. Wan Yan is a 29-year-old millionaire who stopped being so because of his love for animals, can we tell you his story?
Wan Yan and her puppy
Wan Yan loved animals, but he did not know how great that love was. She had been with her puppy for several years, when one day, without knowing how, she disappeared. We can imagine their despair and anguish. This young 29-year-old millionaire began to visit the entire Chinese town where he lived ready to find his friend.
He started walking the streets, putting up posters with a picture of his animal, asking neighbors and friends and going to all the known kennels. The exhaustive search was unsuccessful, as Yan’s puppy never appeared. However, Wan Yan had plenty of time during that search to observe and meditate on something.
He noticed how many stray dogs there were all over the city suffering from cold, hunger and other hardships. He felt as if his heart was skipping a beat making him feel a sadness that overwhelmed him. She couldn’t help but think that her beloved puppy could be in a situation just like theirs. So he made a decision.
Wan Yan and his decision
Thinking that he had the means to help those dogs, he could not stay with his arms crossed and went to work.
Wan Yan invested all his money to buy a kennel and make it a non-profit animal rescue center. He equipped it with all the comforts, began rescuing dogs, giving them the veterinary attention they required and providing them with a decent place and high quality food.
Wan Yan was home to 1,000 stray dogs, which now have an owner and a home. Currently, there are more than 200 who need someone to adopt them.
Wan Yan started this initiative in 2012, putting all his efforts and money into it. Today, 3 years later, he no longer has the financial means to keep these dogs, so he is asking for help. He does not even ask for money, but for donations in kind that allow him to continue giving these animals the care they require.
Regretful?
After reading this moving story in which a 29-year-old seemed to have everything and was left with nothing to care for stray dogs, many might wonder if Wan Yan regrets being left penniless for his decision. Yan himself answers us:
Without a doubt, a man of pure feelings who really knows how to value what is worthwhile. Despite the greed, consumerism and materialism that this world gives off as if it were an air we breathe, there are still people with great hearts who understand a great truth: money is only a means to get things.
What is true happiness
Some say that money does not bring happiness, and that is true, since happiness is a feeling, and feelings are something immaterial, so nothing material could ever create it. True happiness is in giving and sharing with those we love.
We wish that there are many more people who want to taste that happiness by sharing with our beloved animals to give them a better life. Also, we want to congratulate Wan Yan for this beautiful act with the most disadvantaged animals. Much encouragement!
