How many types of vultures are there?
- Old World Vultures: They live in Europe, Asia and Africa. They are those that belong to the Accipitridae family , such as eagles and goshawks, but with very different physical characteristics.
- New World Vultures: They live on the American continent and belong to the Cathartidae family . With an evolutionary origin totally different from the other vultures, their physical characteristics are identical due to a process known as evolutionary convergence.
