• If the animal suffers injuries that do not mean permanent damage: 1 to 2 years in prison and a fine equivalent to between 100 and 200 days of minimum wage. To this is added the disqualification for up to one year to exercise a profession, trade or trade related to the care of animals.
• If injuries cause permanent damage: two to four years in prison, a financial penalty of between 200 and 400 days of minimum wage and disqualification for up to 2 years.
• In the event of the death of the animal: 3 to 5 years in prison, a fine of 3oo to 400 days of minimum wage and disqualification for up to three years.
• If the pet is abandoned, putting its life or integrity at risk: 2 to 4 years in prison and a financial penalty of between 200 and 400 days of minimum wage
